The thing to do is to fill out every application for grants and schlorships that you can and you never know what you might be eligible for.

Is there a college campus where you live? You should put a note up saying that you would like to share an apartment with someone who also has a child or try to keep your apartment and have them move in. You both then can share babysitting responsibilities. Go on campus and put in to be a note taker for someone who has a disability. You take notes for those who cannot and get paid. Put a sign up in a local grocery store and see if there might be some people who need someone to go shopping for them. MotherofAlex

Alex is still having pain but we did find out he has to have gallbladder surgery. Please pray over this because he is really scared and I cannot console him. I started a new job which is going okay but it does not pay what I am used to. They also call you off a lot in between projects so it can be frustrating. I am still behind in my rent so please pray about that. I also have a minifundraiser again this weekend which I hope goes well as I need to raise at lease 250 dollars. My health is doing okay but I have an infected spider bite which is causing the blues. Good news my daughter made me a grandmother again as she had my 10th grandchild on Mother's Day. He was 3 pounds 9 ozs. and 16 inches long. He is doing fine but he will be in the hospital for another month.

Does your town have a Department of Human Services where they have an Emergency Fund to help pay on your rent? They of course will have different requirments but check it out. Also, go talk to different churches and see if they can give you some assistance. I know it is tough looking for a job and worrying about having back rent to pay. I will be praying for you.

I got a job today. I went on the interview and he hired me right on the spot. I start Monday. Bad news is the landlord wants me to move my stuff out by Saturday or he will start the eviction motion. Pray for us.

I am having another mini fund raiser and I hope some of the people who come in the grocery store will be heartfelt to donate something to the cause. I feel bad because it is Alex's 15th birthday today and I cannot do anything for him. The wolf is still baying at the door and I am feeling poorly today with my ear hurting. I have had a busy day with trying to get ready for my son's birthday tomorrow and then my son called me from school to let me know that he was not feeling good. He has been having severe pains in his stomach and back. We believe it is either Sickle Cell Anemia or gall stones. Either way, I am really scared. Please pray for him. The landlord (the wolf) is still knocking on the door and I don't have anything to give him. How is everyone else? I think about others on here constantly. God Bless You.

Do they have a victim's assistance in your town? They might have funds to help you with your rent until you can do it yourself. Check it out.

I went and sat for 8 hours at one of the local grocery stores. I collected a little over 50 dollars which helped somewhat but the landlord wants more so it is never enough. I will be doing two job interviews this week. I need lots of prayers that help will come our way. My son's birthday is Wednesday and it is so heartwrenching the whole situation.

I am feeling a little better today. I talked to a business owner who is allowing me to have a mini fund raiser at his store. I will be giving bags of potato chips with thank you's on them and selling sodas. I will be giving out information on being homeless and the background of what has been going on. I really hopes this works. I have a job interview coming up this upcoming week. Pray for my son and myself.

I was turned down at Modest Needs because I am too poor which is a laugh. I don't know where to turn right now but I feel that I have exhausted every avenue out here. Please pray for me everyone. The wolf is at the door and I cannot even see the end of the tunnel right now. Someone please help me.

Is there any AA groups in your area or NA groups that might be able to steer you towards help in going to school?

If you want to go to New York,you should contact the local battered womens shelter if there is one and they will help you. If there is not one look up the National Battered Women's Shelter's number and call them, they will definitely help you. i will be praying for you as I am going to be going into that field with my degrees and it is a hard thing to go through. I also have been there. Good luck.

Do you have to do the class in DC? Is there a possible way you can talk to the professor of the class and see if you can sit in the class for credit? Also,try talking to the financial aid department of your college and see if there is anyway that you can arrange something. I know that the college here in Akron has openings at the college newspaper which might be a possibility.

Contact the art schools that you might possibly attend and ask them about scholarships and grants geared towards their particular school. Fill out the papers to see what you are eligible for. FastWeb is a good site to explore for scholarships and financial aid. Follow your dreams where there is a will there is a way.

My former boss called me today and stated that we have no work yet. I have not gotten any replies to any of my applications for jobs yet which is very discouraging. Some good news another payment came in on my past due rent but there is nothing else coming in and the landlord is becoming a thorn in my side. Any amount would help at this time so if anyone has any more suggestions please let me know. I also need all the prayers I can get for myself and my son. His birthday is next Wednesday and it is really hard on him going through this again. I am also lagging behind on my school work as i am really becoming stressed about this whole thing. Last night, i could hardly sleep and when i could i had some really strange dreams.

I was informed by my landlord that there was two payments made today towards my rent. This is a blessing. I still need some more towards the total but at least that made me feel a little hope. I am still looking for a computer for my school work so if anyone can help along that line I would really appreciate it. I am praying for all of you and i do know that there is help out there for each and one of us. If anyone can help me let me know, I have been going and talking to the different agencies and churches .

I am so stressed everytime my phone rings or the first of the month comes along because this is when my landlord bugs me about the rent stating he has bills to pay. I understand but I feel so inadequate when I cannot provide for my son and even basic everyday needs cannot be met. I have been reading the different posts and it just breaks your heart knowing that there are so many people in the same boat. I owe 3 and a half months rent since this is the first of April. The landlord just wants his money and i am begging someone to help us as my son and I just want a place to live without all the stress. I also am in need of a computer that I can use at home so I can do work out of my house but more importantly I can do my schoolwork.

I know that the Salvation Army has a food pantry. They also help with rent if they have the funds. Here in Akron, Ohio, they have an agency called Greenleaf that is a counseling agency that has a car loan place for people starting out. You pay the loan back a little at a time. Also, Goodwill has car dealerships that people can get a car for as little as nothing or for nothing at all. YWCA has a clothing closet that helps with clothes for women who need clothing for interviews and/or work. Also, AT&T and Amertech has phone plans for low income individuals. Catholic Churches might be a option for her to approach to help her get back on her feet.

Your children are absolutely beautiful. It is really hard to press charges against someone but it is important to remember that you needed to do it for your children. I hope that you have had some kind of support for you and your children. I will be praying for you.
